Club News/Events

To Our Players, Parents, Coaches and Administrators,

We are pleased to announce that Les Bois Sports Association and the Boise Capital Soccer Club are deeply engaged in discussions regarding a merger of the two most successful clubs in Idaho.

There has been a memorandum of understanding approved by both Boards of Directors.  The memorandum is the result of numerous meetings by an exploratory committee composed of board members from each club.  It was determined we share similar ideals, commitments, training philosophies and structures, and that there are tremendous benefits to combining our resources.

Our vision is simple:

Become the major destination club for the area by improving soccer opportunities for every player at every level of interest and ability.

Set the Standard for quality soccer in Idaho through:

  • Player development
  • Coaching education
  • Facilities and resources
  • Performance at regional and national levels
  • Outreach to the greater soccer community in coaching education and training
  • Integration and facilitation of programming for all youth levels to U19 teams
  • Fiscal accountability and stability while continuing to improve resources for current and future programming

The benefits of such a merger are numerous and include:

  • Opportunities for players to grow in one club from a recreational introduction to college soccer placement
  • Most qualified staff in the region
  • Development of elite level players and teams capable of consistently competing for regional and national championships
  • Resources and programs for players of all levels and interests
  • Create opportunities for neighborhood based play in the Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Kuna, and Nampa communities for U5-U12 age groups

Our merger talks continue at a rapid pace. Our Directors of Coaching have completed the new club structure, programming, age appropriate curriculum, and transition plan to ensure meaningful staff, player, and team development.

We understand the anxiety of such an endeavor, and we assure all families and players that any and all concerns will be addressed with specific details to your teams/age groups.  Please be assured we are committed to making this merger a positive and beneficial experience for every player, team, and family.

We are very excited about the creation of something very special through this collaboration.  We now have all the tools necessary to be the most professional and successful club in the Region:

  • Most experienced and licensed staff in the Northwest
  • Most State Cup Champions in Idaho history; boys/girls
  • The only Idaho club to have won Regional and National Championships
  • Most successful college soccer placement program in Idaho
  • Beautiful soccer specific facility (Capitals Soccer Complex)
  • Most comprehensive and professional Youth Development Program

We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing our vision of the new soccer star in the West, FC NOVA.

Les Bois Alumni Christmas Reunion
Les Bois Alumni 2005/2006 returned home from their junior and senior years of college to share in an evening of indoor soccer and festivities.

Les Bois alumni players gathered at the Idaho Indoor Soccer Center December 23; to remember, share, laugh, and play.  Les Bois 2005/2006 was arguably one of the most talented teams to ever play for Les Bois and come out of the state of Idaho.

Accomplishments include:
4x Idaho State Champions (U16, U17, U18, U19)
US Club Regional Champions (U17 Super Group, Las Vegas)
USYSA Region IV Semi-Finalists; 2005 and 2006 (3rd Place)
US Club National Cup; Stonybrook, NY
Four College All-Americans: Shannon Oakes (Seattle Pacific University), Kelly Baker (Whitworth University), Meredith Teague (Seattle Pacific University), and Katie Joseph (Carroll College)
NCAA Div. 2 National Champion; Shannon Oakes, Seattle Pacific University (2008)

"This continues to be a very special group of women that knows how to appreciate the moment.  They learned early to “Dream Big”, play hard, and be their possibility.  While they have moved on in their lives, it is clear they continue to develop their greatness on a personal, academic, and professional level.”  Mollay continued, “This is a team with a special place in Idaho soccer history, Les Bois history, and in our hearts.  They have left a lasting impression and set the standards for future teams and players to aspire.  Their team bond continues to be strong, and while having success on the field was an important part of their journey, their friendships and experiences define what it means to “Live Les Bois”.

Les Bois' "Paving the Way"
Our country's culture is still not that of other soccer nations. As a result, our kids are not engulfed in the game, the same way millions of other kids in different cultures experience their soccer development. Identifying with top flight players is important for players to model themselves or gain ideas, nuture their imagination. Knowing it can be done, because this particular person is doing it, or has done it is important. "Paving the Way" is just that, a way for our players to identify with someone, like themselves, and know it can be done, it is possible.

Maite Zabala is a special player and person, who played for Les Bois at one time, and paved the way for our kids to  have access to the big stage. She did it, and is one of us!  She continues to do it in every aspect of her life, she is "Paving the Way"!

No. 6 Stanford, Santa Clara Next Up for Bulldogs
Yale Takes Three-Game Winning Streak To Santa Clara Classic

Sept. 18, 2008

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's soccer team has looked pretty impressive
over the last three games. The Bulldogs have scored 12 goals and yielded
just one in victories over Western Carolina, Delaware and Sacred Heart. This
weekend, Yale will get an opportunity to test itself on a national stage at
the Santa Clara adidas Classic. The Bulldogs play sixth-ranked Stanford on
Friday at 5 p.m. PST ( GameTracker Live Stats) and take on perennial
national power Santa Clara on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. PST (GameTracker Live
Stats, Pay-per-view video).

The Bulldogs (4-2) began the week 72nd in the nation in scoring offense but
that could rise after a 6-0 rout of Sacred Heart on Tuesday night. Maggie
Westfal had three goals in the win over the Pioneers and leads the team in
goals (4) and points (13).

Stanford (6-0-1) has outscored its opponents 19-2 so far this season and has
earned five shutouts. The Cardinal has also out shot its opponents 149-50
(85-11 on goal), averaging 21.3 (12.1 on goal) shots a game. Stanford has
been scoring most of its goals early on, putting in 13 of its 19 tallies in
the first half. On the national scale, Stanford is ranked in the top 30 of
four of the six team categories the NCAA keeps a record of in Division I
competition, tying for 29th in scoring offense (2.71 goals per game), 13th
in won-lost-tied percentage (0.929), and for 10th in shutout percentage
(0.714), while solely holding eighth place in goals-against-average (0.277).

Santa Clara (3-4) has played its first seven games away from home. Three of
their four losses have come to teams currently ranked in the top four in the
nation - No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 3 North Carolina and No. 4 USC. The Broncos
have reached the NCAA College Cup in each of the last 19 seasons.

The trip to California is the final tuneup before the start of Ivy League
play for the Bulldogs, who host Princeton on Sept. 27 at Reese Stadium at 7
p.m.

When Les Bois Goes to College
Playing college soccer takes commitment, talent, and ambition.  Realizing this goal is a process that begins at an early age with the right environment, instruction, and ability.  When the talent is more refined and developed, the college placement process at Les Bois begins at the U15 age group and continues through the U18 age group or a player’s senior year in high school.  Les Bois has created the most complete college placement program in the state to support young athletes in this exciting but complicated transition.

Les Bois Players have received over $1.8 million in soccer scholarship awards (since 1992)

Les Bois has developed and placed over 150 players on the college soccer stage (since 1992)
